The Troubleshooting Methods for Your Damaged Membrane Switch

Membrane switches appear in every corner of our daily life: washing machines, microwave ovens and every instrument you use in your work. About 80 percent of electrical equipment uses membrane switches. Once one of the switches fails, how do we troubleshoot and repair it? In this blog, JRPanel would like to explain how to troubleshoot and repair the faulty membrane switch.

The first step is to locate the damaged part. Press all the buttons and see if the various functions of the device are activated.

If ONLY 1 OR 2 BUTTONS do not respond, the metal dome may be broken or displaced. We can use the hot air from the hair dryer to heat the product for 5 to 10 minutes. The purpose of this is to reduce the viscosity of the adhesive by heating.

The metal dome is on the third layer at the bottom of the membrane switch, and we can disassemble it to check or replace the dome.

If NONE OF THR BUTTONS respond, then we need to check for loose or damaged terminal housings at the end of the circuit. At the same time, don't forget to check the internal circuit. Once the circuit fails, we need to replace is the entire membrane switch.

To replace the membrane switch panel of the same model and specification, we only need to remove the control panel. The operation is very simple. Reading this article: Top 5 Biggest Membrane Switch Installation Mistakes will help you avoid installation mistakes.

Microswitches are also an option if you can't get a membrane switch panel. The circuit design should follow the old membrane switch. As for how to install the micro switch, we can complete it by drilling holes, silicone fixing and wiring.

If you have any questions about membrane switches, welcome to JRPanel!

What Exactly Is the Difference Between IP66 and IP67?

What is IP67 and what is the difference between it and IP66?   This is probably the question that JRPanel engineers have been asked most often recently.   On the  online pricing page  of JRPanel's website, a new option appears in the Rear Adhesive section: 3M300LSE & Waterproof ( IP67 ).   In fact, this is a waterproof process recently upgraded by the JRPanel factory. This process can bring more possibilities to your products, and it also marks that JRPanel's products have reached a new level.   So what is the difference between IP67 and the previous  IP66 process ? In this article, we will explain in detail.   In the previous article  Criteria for the Classification Ratings of Ingress Protection , we introduced that the ingress protection rating is composed of two digits. The first  digit  represents the level of the electrical appliance's ability to prevent intrusion of foreign objects, and the second  digit ...

Brief Introduction to Flat Spiral Coil Inductors

Hi guys! Today JRPanel would like to share a few points about Flat Spiral Coil  Inductors  with you. Basically, a flat coil inductor is an inductor wound with flat copper wire.  The picture below is the side view, we can see that each circle of copper wire is arranged very compact. Here are some of the application characteristics of flat coils : 1.  High current inductance 2.  Lowest DC resistance           3.  Can ensure smooth drop of current-resistant inductance 4.  Suitable for reflow SMT process 5.  Lead-free, RoHS compliant This pciture shows a flat coil product.  It is generally used in power supplies, personal computers and other handheld  electronic devices . Advantages of  F lat  C oil  I nductors are : 1.  Scientific and reasonable space design. 2.  Tight and flat between turns ensures the effective cross-sectional area of the wire, which greatly reduces the copper loss ...

The Main Use and Classification Methods of Transformer Bobbins

Hi guys, this blog is still about   high frequency transformers .   JRPanel   would like to introduce you the main use of transformer bobbins and how we classify them.   In the pictures are the transformer bobbins.        Following are the main uses of that JRPanel has summarized for you:   1. The bobbins provide space for winding copper wires in transformers.   2. Wire channel in the bobbins provides path for transformer winding.   3. The bobbins help to fix the core in the transformers.   4. The metal pins in the bobbins are connected to the  PCB  after soldering, which play an important role in conducting electricity when the transformer is working.   5. The baffle at the bottom of the bobbins isolates the core from the tin stack to avoid poor volta ge resistance.       From this it can be seen that the importance of bobbins in transf...
