What Harm Will Low Quality Membrane Switches Bring to Your Products?

 In the more than ten years of membrane switch design and manufacturing career, we have come into contact with all kinds of membrane switches or membrane panels, and have also participated in the repair work of many membrane switches. Therefore, we can easily identify the quality of a membrane switch. So what kind of membrane switch is considered a low-quality membrane switch? What harm will low-quality membrane switches bring? Today, JRPanel would like to take you to understand about it.

Generally speaking, there are two factors that affect the quality of a product: raw materials and manufacturing processes. The main raw materials involved in a membrane switch include: printing ink, plastic film, metal dome, adhesive and so on. The manufacturing process includes both conventional processes such as screen printing and laser cutting, as well as JRPanel's unique IP66 waterproof process.

It can be seen that the quality of a membrane switch is affected by many factors. You cannot assume that a membrane switch that uses high-quality raw materials is high-quality. So what kind of membrane switch is considered low quality? JRPanel summarizes the following characteristics of low-quality membrane switches for everyone:

1. The quality of the keys is poor, the lifespan is extremely short, and they cannot rebound after a period of use;

2. The printing quality of the built-in circuit is poor, so that the signal cannot be connected;

3. The characters of the printed pattern are not clear or even wrong;

4. The light transmittance of the instrument panel is poor, and the light cannot penetrate.

As long as one of the above conditions occurs in a membrane switch, we can identify it as a low-quality membrane switch. Then what harm will low-quality membrane switches bring?

For Users:

Low quality membrane switches may render the product unusable. The user may not be able to input operating instructions to the instrument or device through the membrane keypad. If the membrane switch is damaged, the entire device may fail, and even seriously threaten the user's personal safety.

For Manufacturers:

Low-quality membrane switches will affect the overall quality of the product, resulting in the loss of users and the collapse of brand reputation. Later rework and repair will increase the cost, disrupt the original production plan, and cause production impact.

How to eliminate the hidden dangers of low-quality membrane switches and improve the quality of membrane switch panels? In the next episode, JRPanel would like to share with you.

What Exactly Is the Difference Between IP66 and IP67?

  What is IP67 and what is the difference between it and IP66?   This is probably the question that JRPanel engineers have been asked most often recently.   On the  online pricing page  of JRPanel's website, a new option appears in the Rear Adhesive section: 3M300LSE & Waterproof ( IP67 ).   In fact, this is a waterproof process recently upgraded by the JRPanel factory. This process can bring more possibilities to your products, and it also marks that JRPanel's products have reached a new level.   So what is the difference between IP67 and the previous  IP66 process ? In this article, we will explain in detail.   In the previous article  Criteria for the Classification Ratings of Ingress Protection , we introduced that the ingress protection rating is composed of two digits. The first  digit  represents the level of the electrical appliance's ability to prevent intrusion of foreign objects, and the second  digit ...

Identify Different Types of Transformer Cores, Based on Materials

  Hi guys, this is JRPanel ! In previous  blog s, we have introduced several points about High Frequency Transformer, like  bobbins  and  Flat Spiral Coil . In this blog, JRPanel would like to introduce the commonly used magnetic cores in transformers ,  based on materials.   Generally speaking, the material of the core determines the environment in which the transformer is used. A transformer that uses a core of a different material will have its performance affected, may even be non-functional.   By material, magnetic cores are generally divided into the  several  categories . JRPanel will introduce them one by one to help you understand more fully.   1. Manganese Zinc Ferrite Core Mn-Zn core is a soft magnetic core with high initial permeability (2000~15000). The higher the initial permeability, the lower the surface resistance, so it is generally used in circuits below 1 MHz. Mn-Zn core has a high saturation ...

Brief Introduction to Flat Spiral Coil Inductors

  Hi guys! Today JRPanel would like to share a few points about Flat Spiral Coil  Inductors  with you. Basically, a flat coil inductor is an inductor wound with flat copper wire.  The picture below is the side view, we can see that each circle of copper wire is arranged very compact. Here are some of the application characteristics of flat coils : 1.  High current inductance 2.  Lowest DC resistance           3.  Can ensure smooth drop of current-resistant inductance 4.  Suitable for reflow SMT process 5.  Lead-free, RoHS compliant This pciture shows a flat coil product.  It is generally used in power supplies, personal computers and other handheld  electronic devices . Advantages of  F lat  C oil  I nductors are : 1.  Scientific and reasonable space design. 2.  Tight and flat between turns ensures the effective cross-sectional area of the wire, which greatly reduces the copper loss ...
